With a rich baritone voice and a talent for crafting engaging lyrical stories, singer/songwriter Carter Winter is quickly becoming established as one of the most brilliant new singer/songwriters in country music.

Called “country music’s modern traditionalist,” Carter Winter connects with an audience through a fresh sound that like Carter himself, is surprisingly familiar, yet raw and honest. Winter has been influenced by living a life on the edge, but having the wherewithal to share life’s ups and downs through songs. As a creative talent, he has always been compelled to do what he does, even if there’s no fallback option. When it’s all said and done, the challenges are what makes the music stand out.

Based in San Luis Obispo County on California’s beautiful Central Coast, Bitterwater Road is a country music band playing classics from the 1960s through 1990s by artists from Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to Alan Jackson and George Strait, while also mixing in songs from contemporary artists such as Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers and a few original tunes of the band’s own.

The band’s honky tonkin’ electrified sound draws on California’s proud history in country music (who needs Nashville when Bakersfield is right over the hill?) and is perfect for line dancin’, Western Swing and boot scootin’ of all kinds.
