SUMMARY:The Honeyboys w/Couch Dog and Buppy (FREE SHOW!)
DESCRIPTION:SLO’s college music scene takes over the Siren for a night of garage rock\, courtesy of SLO’s finest college rock bands on the scene! \nTHE HONEYBOYS: \n“We would make such a funny subject for a documentary\,” Honeyboys drummer Matt Sato laughs as guitarist Reese Gardner adds\, “you could title it\, like\, Making a Band in the Social Media Age.” \n For the new\, four-person band\, based in San Luis Obispo\, California\, their story is a uniquely Gen-Z one – starting with social media follows\, DM conversations\, and Zoom sessions. It all began when Reese joined a freshman orientation Facebook group just as he was starting at California Polytechnic State University\, hoping to meet a few like-minded newcomers. “I felt like all anyone in that group wanted to do was talk about partying\,” he laments. \nWE ARE COUCH DOG: \nWe like making music for dancing\, crying and kissing. \nBUPPY: \n18-year-old Utah native Buppy explores a mindful blend of Anti-Pop and Alternative R&B to tell his own coming of age story. Using music creation as an outlet for emotional relief\, Buppy began composing and writing original songs at the young age of 12\, drawing inspiration from fellow music artist and older sister Eleanor Kingston. Since then\, his key focus has been on lyrical content\, where a listener can find themself stepping into Buppy’s world of vulnerability\, becoming familiar with his raw and honest storytelling ability. He often works collaboratively with LA-based producer BOIA to execute his sonic vision\, and is closely involved in the making of his music videos alongside accomplished director Anthony Palmer. With the Wonderland premiere of “genre-bending hit ‘Violence”’ in January of 2021\, Buppy began to release his work to the public\, immersing others into a world of his own.  After wrapping up his debut 4-show ‘Nights2Remember’ 2021 tour\, Buppy looks forward to the new year with excitement\, gearing up to release his debut 6-song EP\, “Cold Nights in Hollywood”\, in early 2022.
