Introducing PAR AVION – A Surf Band Gone Eclectic
PAR AVION builds upon the traditions of Southern California’s reverb-heavy surf sound then takes a journey that touches upon a unique mix of flavors ranging from dance, Latin, and some good ol’ garage to name a few. This instrumental group is fronted by Bernard Yin who has toured over the years with groups as diverse as Medicine, El Vez, The BellRays, Fur Dixon (of the CRAMPS), Pansy Division and the Fuzztones. On bass is his wife Rebecca Ramirez. Par Avion has performed in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Italy, France and all over California. This year’s highlights include Tiki Oasis and Lightning in a Bottle; two very different festivals that serve as a testimony to the band’s diverse sound. And, yes, Bernard Yin actually surfs. Last but far from least, treasure trove of fabulous drummers perform with Par Avion including DJ Bonebrake, Dusty Watson, Derek O’Brien, Jimmy Paxson, and George Bernardo to name a few. No matter who it is, you will be stoked!
