If we can’t go on a tropical vacation for New Year’s Eve, then we are bring the vacation to Morro Bay! We’re talking about killer live music from 3 different acts, Hula dancers, smoking a WHOLE pig onsite luau style, surf videos on the tv’s and of course great vacation drinks and an authentic Hawaiian BBQ dinner influenced by island flavors from all over the world to take your mind on a tropical trip. After the bands perform, a DJ will play to let you dance the night away! ALOHA and see you at the party!

It’s up-tempo hapa-haole, tiki, and surf themed music, all filtered through the late 1950’s and early 60’s rockabilly, surf, and rock n’ roll sound!
The Hula Girls formed in 2008 and have been busy playing their self-described ‘hulabilly’ music all over Southern California at venues such as Don the Beachcomber (Sunset Beach), the Royal Hawaiian (Laguna Beach), Clifton’s Pacific Seas (DTLA), Sealegs at the Beach (Huntington Beach), the Observatory (Santa Ana), and at the Coachhouse (San Clemente). nd lead vocals, Shorty Poole on upright and electric basses, Gary Brandin on steel guitar, and Doug Sanborn on drums! They are always accompanied by their hula-a-go-go dancers, Miss Haylee Holiday, Miss Ginger Watson, and/ or Miss Veronica Velvet!
The Hula Girls have played along with such modern rockabilly, punk, and surf legends as Dick Dale, The Ventures, Duane Eddie, X, The Adicts, the Reverend Horton Heat, The Knitters, Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys, The Stray Cats’ Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom, Dave Alvin, Southern Culture on the Skids, Los Straitjackets, and Wayne the Train Hancock, among many others.
The opening band, The Bonneville Phantoms are a band playing Americana/Rockabilly/Roots Rock based out of San Luis Obispo, California. They play both original material and select covers to keep you dancing. A throwback to the 60’s you’re gonna love. Make sure you drive your 34 Ford to the show 🙂 We hope to see you soon!
