The Rap Contest is one of the most exciting live hip-hop shows in the country!  The Rap Contest is an original song competition series started in 2010 by Sellassie as a platform for independent hip-hop artists to connect with new audiences.  The Rap Contest is the place where raps come to life on stage from some of the coolest artists that you just haven’t heard about yet.  The Rap Contest has visited 20 cities from coast to coast including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Berkeley, Chicago, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Orlando & Seattle.

The Rap Contest is fast paced, exciting, entertaining and most of all FUN!!!   The Rap Contest is innovative, authentic and is consistently packing clubs for new music. The Rap Contest is a single elimination contest, where local artists compete for a cash prize of $1000 at each show.   The Rap Contest has produced 125 successful shows in its first seven years and partnered with several local and regional promo companies, radio stations, studios and organizations. The Rap Contest has booked over 1500 talented and emerging hip hop artists from across the country that have performed in front of industry professional and celebrity judges.  The Rap Contest is independent hip-hop, it invests in artists on the rise and respects and contributes to the culture of hip-hop.
